When one first comes to Baja for a vacation they generally think of Cabo San Lucas, San Jose Del Cabo and all the areas in between those two lovely cities.
But if you get adventurous and come to the “East Cape” as we love to call this area, you will fall in love.
We are located about 12 Miles outside of La Ribera, which is a wonderful little town about an hours ride north of Los Cabos Airport. As you head south from La Ribera, approximately 3.5 miles before Las Barracas the pavement ends and you start off on a graded dirt road that seems to lead nowhere. But just about 2 miles in, you will come over a crest and have the most breathtaking gift, our beautiful Barracas Bay. Seeing it for the first time or the thousandth time makes no difference, the feeling of awe and peace is always the same.
Las Barracas is located inside the Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, so this area is very protected, well loved and cared for by many people. Las Barracas is a very small community with a few full time residents and others that stay for only a few months a year. Either way, we all find our peace and happiness here in this wonderful place and are so fortunate to be this lucky.
You won’t have the ATV’s, the water vehicles, or crowds of tourists all over the beach. We don’t have people roaming the beach selling trinkets or bothering you in any way. Instead, you may see a local, or perhaps a few tourists walking the beach or playing in the beautiful waters enjoying every advantage this pristine area offers. But most of the time the beach is empty.
So, if you are looking for a little piece of heaven, in a quiet private area, this is the place. We are surrounded by the most wonderful diving, snorkeling, fishing, turtle habitats, whale watching and the most incredible sunrises and sunsets you can imagine. Also, in Las Ribera, Cabo Pulmo or beyond to Los Barriles, we have wonderful shops and restaurants should you wish to venture away for the day or an evening.
Come walk our beautiful beaches. Sit and listen to the beautiful sound of the waves as they wash over the rocks and fall back to the sea. It will steal your heart, warm your soul and you won’t soon forget Las Barracas.
